About black door design

Born and raised in Flint, Amy pursued a college education locally by attending the University of Michigan-Flint where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration.. In 2002 Amy enrolled in Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids.. For the next two years she studied architectural drafting, art history, design theory, and residential and commercial interiors. In 2004 she graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a degree in Interior Design. 
 
In 2015 after six years with the Flint Institute of Arts, Amy established Black Door Design. BDD is a creative space specializing in custom projects using wood, glass, watercolor, and acrylic paint.

Amy has completed numerous design projects for various local clients. They include custom tile and glass flooring, glass mosaic wall and window art, the design and construction of the 2006-2014 Libby Award, and permanent installations for the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
